Concerned residents have contacted us, after hearing scaremongering rumours about the closure of the Civic Hall in Radcliffe.
We asked prospective MP for Bury South, and local Councillor, Michelle Wiseman, what’s going on?
“Closure what closure? Bury Council are carrying out a review of Radcliffe Civic Hall - there has never been any mention of closure.“
“It is purely about turning round something which has lost money year after year, taking money away from other local areas, into a venture that is at worst break even or dare I mention the word makes a profit, which could then be re-invested locally into Radcliffe!”
The fact that Labour are resorting to scaremongering and dirty tactics, shows their true colours. Local Staff and employees at the Civic Hall have been made to fear for the future of their jobs, due to these unfounded and misleading claims.
Senior Labour Councillors even admitted at the Council Executive Meeting that that no decision has been made to close the Civic Hall, and that the recent headlines are extremely misleading.
Local Conservatives will always work hard and campaign positively for the future of all Radcliffe residents.
